Hello Meatballs,
Are you tired of the same food every day? Eating the same thing day after day (Cafeteria, Spartan Club, or Stadium)? You are begging for some quick change? Well your wish is my command, minutes from campus is Mr. Empanada a Cuban base restaurant that specializes in “empanadas.” According to Mr. Empanada’s website, “empanadas” are crescent-shaped turnovers made from different kinds of dough and stuffed with well-seasoned combinations of meat, chicken, seafood and vegetables, or fruit mixtures and dessert elements.
It’s a great alternative to satisfy your hunger; as a snack, lunch or dinner. Enjoy their different types of empanadas: ground beef, beef and cheese, Italian sausage and cheese, chicken/broccoli and cheese, crabmeat, guava and cream cheese, apple and e dough. Don’t forget to try their soups, salads and best of all their tasty Cuban sandwich. My favorite is the ground beef empanada, as well as the Cuban sandwich.
The best of all is the affordable prices. Enjoy a big and tasty empanada or Cuban sandwich for a low price. Mr. Empanada counts with six restaurants in the Tampa area and one in Brandon, so no matter where you are in Tampa, there’s going to be a Mr. Empanada near you.

low calorie alcoholic beverages
Hello meatballs,
This is the post I promised about low calorie alcohol alternatives:
As a bartender I have learned to like wine which can be very caloric. I would suggest trying a wine spritzer, you can buy them in the store or make your own very quickly. They do make low calorie wines but they also have a low alcohol level. I have never tried them and I wonder if the way they make these wines causes them to loose taste as well. I will try it out and let you know.
We are also aware of the light beers that are in circultion. It is always better to drink a light beer rather than a regular beer. Some are low carb, and some a low calorie so pick the best one for you.
One of the tricks I have learned over the years is that margaritas are very bad for you. If you are in a restaurant that serves two for one margaritas you should ask the bartender to combine the alcohol into one drink instead of two. This will save you on some sour mix which is the main ingredient and has alot of calories.
You should aviod any drink that is frozen, contains a lot of juices (sugar), contains egg nog, or has any alcohol in it with a creme base (baileys).l
One of the best drinks to have while watching calories is the appletini, while one of the worst is the chocotini due to creme base.
I DO NOT SUPPORT ANYBODY UNDER THE AGE OF 21 DRINKING IN MY BAR. IF YOU ARE UNDER 21 DO NOT ASK WHERE I WORK.

Spartan Meatball Welcomes You With a New Alternative
Hello meatballs,
Just a heads up of what I’m going to be blogging about. I will be talking about convenient and affordable restaurants around the Tampa Bay area. I will be giving you some alternative restaurants for your different types of craving, from Mexican to Italian, from Greek to Puerto Rican, anything you want all here in Tampa.
It’s late at night, you are stuck on campus and you want food NOW, and there is no Spartan Club to save you. Don’t worry about going to sleep again with an empty stomach. Just minutes from UT campus on Howard Avenue, is Pita Pit, an affordable and healthy restaurant. Like the name says, Pita Pit, the menu consist of different sorts of pitas, from breakfast pitas to chicken pitas, as well as soups, salads, cookies, and smoothies. My favorite one is the Chicken Caesar Pita, and the great thing is that you can choose the toppings you want in your pita; try it and let me know how it was. The best thing is that you can order online or by phone and the food will be delivered to you, or just walk in.
Believe me, you will be completely satisfied. Don’t worry my fellow meatballs, if you want to eat pita and you are not in Tampa, well good news, Pita Pit is all over the United States, including Canada. It’s the best way to fulfill your midnight craving in a healthy and tasty way. Pita Pit is a good alternative for fast food restaurants.
Pita Pit is open Sundays and Mondays from 9:30AM to Midnight, and Tuesdays to Saturdays from 9:30AM till 4:00AM.
Enjoy Your Meal!!!

Adobo Meatballs first post!!
Hello meatballs,
I just wanted to let you know that I have started a diet today. So, my posts will most likely be about what kinds of diet friendly foods I am trying at different restaurants and what I am trying at the grocery store. I would be lying if I said that I have never been on a diet before, but this one will work god damn it!!
I just started a seven week health class and our first assignment was to make a "healthy behavior change" she said something that you know you need to do but are dreading. So I put I need to loose weight. So this will be my journey to change my mind, body and soul!
So I am guessing that I will not be having and adobo meatballs for a while...but those do sound really good right now. On the flip side, I did go to the grocery store today and I found out that Special K has a lot of products-cereal, meal bars, snack bars, waffles and even water mix and they come in many different flavors. I was shocked to find out that the cereal is actually really good! I really like to variety with the chocolate shavings in it!!
I have also visited chillis recently. They have several new additions to their menu. Chillis happens to be right down the street from where I work, so my co-workers and myself go there on a regular basis. Anyway, they have a new salad that was really good. It had spicy grilled shrimp, corn, beans, cheese, pieces of corn chips, and pico/salsa. I really liked it. Thinking about it makes me want to order one togo tonight!!
My next post will be about finding a low calorie Starbucks alternative, because the diet book I am following says that is one place to avoid. I did not know that the grande vanilla late that I have been drinking daily for years has over 300 calories in it! So, I will be doing some research on this topic and I will be letting you meatballs know about healthy coffee varieties next week!!
But what I would like to know from you meatballs is what are some healthy alternatives to have on campus. I am a fan of those bagel hot dogs at Einsteins, and I do not think that I can do that anymore. Since I don't live on campus, I do not know about everything they have to offer food wise.
